Beyonce’s father will no longer manage her career
Beyonce will no longer be managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, her publicist said Monday. The Grammy-winning singer and her father have parted ways “on a business level,” publicist Yvette Noel-Schure told The Associated Press in a statement. “I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” Beyonce said in the statement. “I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.” She didn’t say what led to the split, but her father said in a separate statement to the AP late Monday that the decision was mutual.
In the statement, Beyonce stressed her devotion to her father on a personal level. “He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” Beyonce said. Knowles also got personal in his statement. “Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success,” he said. Knowles and Beyonce’s mother, Tina, divorced in 2009 after 29 years of marriage. Tina Knowles worked as a stylist for Destiny’s Child and continues to style her daughter. Together they launched a clothing line, House of Dereon. Noel-Schure didn’t comment on who Beyonce’s new manager would be. Knowles said his plans include focusing on his label’s work in gospel and inspirational music, where he said the company has made a “tremendous investment.”
MATHEW’S STATEMENT
The decision for Beyonce and Music World Entertainment to part was mutual. We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment. Currently, I am very focused on the tremendous investment that our record label has made in the gospel/inspirational genre of music and on our supremely talented roster of artists, including Trin-i-tee 5:7, Brian Courtney Wilson, Juanita Bynum, Micah Stampley, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Pastor Rudy and others. Business is business and family is family. I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.

Beyoncé talks at-home beauty treatments, makeup tricks
- Allure.
When I recently spoke with Beyoncé, she mentioned that her latest fragrance, Heat Rush, is meant to “remind you of sunshine”. We asked B to shed some sunlight on her favorite beauty products, what it’s like to give people a fragrance bottle with your name on it, and that rite of passage every young woman goes through: stealing her mother’s perfume.
How often do you wear fragrance?
Every day. I put it on as soon as I get out of the shower. I wear it onstage, in the studio, on dates.
How many fragrances do you own?
I’m very loyal. I find one and wear it for years. I wear Heat and Heat Rush—I really do! It was important to me that they work for all occasions because I don’t like to switch up. I like to have a signature scent so that when I walk past, everyone knows it’s me. My mother always wore the same fragrance [when I was a kid] and every time I smell it, I think of her.
What perfume is that?
She wore 273. I remember it was the first thing that I wore because I used to steal it from her!

NeYo: Beyoncé is an hands-on artist
With Beyonce, for example, I love how hands on she is with everything that she does. Not too long ago I did some sessions with her for her forthcoming album that she’s putting together and she’s the kind of artist that knows exactly what she wants. She is not a ‘paper doll’ artist and what I mean by that is that a paper doll is inanimate and you dress it up to make it exactly how you want it to look and it’s just there waiting for you to put something on it. That’s not who she is. She is definitely in there like “I don’t think I would say that” or “I want the song to feel like this” or whatever the case might be by leading the pen. Even if she’s not writing the song herself or at least not all the time, she’s definitely leading the pen to get exactly what she wants so that it has that Beyonce stamp on it and I love that. I feel like if I give you a song and you sing it exactly the way I sang it then you might as well let me keep it. That doesn’t make any sense. I want you to do something to make it yours and I never have that problem with Beyonce.
