Q: So how is this new collaboration with Beyoncé coming?
Ne-Yo: (After a good chuckle) It’s coming along nicely. I can’t speak too much on it, but it’s another direction for her, and she’s carving out her own niche. In a minute nobody will be in Beyoncé’s lane. They really can’t get in her lane now, but they really can’t get in her lane after this album.
Ne-Yo posted this on his Twitter:
Mornin’ NY!!! Studio with Mary J Blige last night, Beyonce tonight. I LOVE MY JOB!!!Shout out Jerry Wonder!!

Beyoncé proves exactly why she is still worthy of her Bootylicious alter ego as she shows off her killer curves in a revealing play suit. Dressed in the low cut outfit, teamed with sandals, the Single Ladies diva certainly looked the part as she relaxed with family on an island near Cannes in France.
She might be pregnant with twins but that did not stop Princess Mary from shaking her booty on the dance floor at her bridesmaid Amber Petty’s 40th birthday bash on Saturday night. The Danish Crown Princess let her hair down at Petty’s milestone celebration at The Promethean nightspot in Adelaide, busting some moves to Beyonce’s hit Single Ladies. “She was having a great time,” a spy said. The Princess, escorted to the private do by two burly minders, partied into the early hours, leaving about 2am yesterday. Four months into her pregnancy, the yummy mummy was much more casual boarding a plane to Melbourne and Hobart later yesterday.
Her Secret Passion: It all started when she was growing up in Houston, going to church with her family. “Pastor Rudy is still my pastor. I watched my parents get involved in [community charities] there, and that taught me how important it is to ‘give ’til it hurts.’ I saw how happy you could make people, whether just giving someone a hug, having a conversation or spending some time, and it became a part of me.”
What Motivates Her: “Sisterhood means everything to me. All the charities I’m involved with are special, but I find any organization that focuses on women and children really motivating. GEMS and the young ladies the nonprofit helps are very close to my heart. And what I took away from the clients at Phoenix House changed my life. These were real people who touched me so much that I had to go beyond making a donation. They’re gaining skills at the Cosmetology Center, which will help them earn a living and find their way out of substance abuse—it’s a testament to the possibility of second chances.”
Who Inspires Her: “My mother, Tina Knowles. She’s an incredibly loving person who is the first to make time for others.”
Her Proudest Accomplishment: “Singing ‘At Last’ for President Barack Obama on his inauguration night was a personal accomplishment for me, both as a performer and an American.”
More after the jump!

What makes her sexy: Her penchant for short, tight outfits that show off her curves helps a lot, and she’s one of the hottest live performers in the music biz. Plus, she’s one of the few people who can look good in this daring getup.

It’s the definitive countdown of music–from rock to pop to rap to metal. This 5-hour special will rank the biggest of the big: Michael Jackson, The Beatles, Madonna, Jay Z, Led Zeppelin, Beyoncé and The Rolling Stones are just some of the names being considered to be named the “Greatest Artist of All Time.” Who better to crown number one than VH1? Determined by a poll of musicians and music experts, the series will premiere over four consecutive nights at 8PM. The countdown will include special, rarely-seen performance footage along with brand new, totally original interviews with music’s most famous faces. For decades there have been countless arguments about the greatest artists ever. Now VH1’s “100 Greatest Artists of All-Time” is out to settle them for once and for all.
Beyonce Knowles has surprised her fans by revealing that she thinks of herself as a feminist. In an interview with You magazine, the singer also confesses that her Valentine’s Day date with rapper husband Jay-Z took place on Skype because of their frenetic work schedules. The 28-year-old, who has received 16 Grammys during her 13-year career, says: “I think I am a feminist in a way. It kept me out of so much trouble and out of bad relationships. My friendships with my girls are just so much a part of me that there are things I am never going to do that would upset that bond. I never want to betray that friendship because I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women. I think we learn a lot from our female friends. It’s good to support each other and I do try to put that message in my music.”
Beyoncé doesn’t always stick to a strict diet – on Sundays, the Bootylicious singer treats herself to tastier snacks and calorific treats. On her eating habits, Knowles – who just collaborated with Kanye West on his new song See Me Now – revealed: “I have to watch what I eat, but I’m not trying to lose my curves. “I just don’t have pasta all the time. I tend to eat well during the week and then eat whatever I want on Sunday,” added Bey. So how does Knowles keep in shape? She explained: “Being on stage is a workout in itself – when I’m not touring, I go to the gym and do the usual stuff that works: sit-ups, squats.”
Katy Perry stunned school leavers in Australia on Friday, August 13 when she crashed a student prom in Melbourne. The “I Kissed a Girl” hitmaker made an impromptu appearance at the city’s Grand Hyatt hotel, where pupils were celebrating their leaving party. The star asked to speak to the head of the student council, and offered to join in the celebrations. Student council president Anthony Lay says, ”Someone came over to me and said Katy Perryhad heard about our formal, and wanted to come. But she’s a celebrity and there were more than 550 students in the room, so another person, a woman, said it would be too dangerous.” But Perry ignored the safety advice and stormed straight to the center of the dancefloor, grabbed a mic and started singing Beyonce Knowles’ hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” – before the shocked DJ started spinning her recent hit “California Gurls”. In a post on her Twitter.com page, she wrote, “I totes (totally) just crashed a prom!”

For this week’s edition of Billboard Mashup Mondays, Sara Bareilles puts a piano-pop twist on Beyoncé’s 2008 smash hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It).” The singer-songwriter turns the bouncy anthem into a slow, jazzy track, complete with creeping bassline and vocal harmonies. “If I’m gonna do a cover of a song, I want to completely reinterpret it,” explains Bareilles of her take on the pop hit. “It would be hard to imagine it as sort of a doo-wop-y, voice-and-piano kind of song, so I started fooling around with that on the piano, and it ended up being something super-fun.” Beyoncé hit No. 1 on the Hot 100 with the girl-centric single in December 2008. Meanwhile, “King Of Anything,” the first single off Bareilles’ upcoming sophomore disc “Kaleidoscope Heart,” is currently at No. 9 on Billboard’s Adult Pop Songs chart.
